The Arboretum at Barber Station is an upscale multi-family community whose interiors feature a touch of nature. Our team helped lay the groundwork for that setting with earth tones infused into the walls, furniture, and flooring selections in the community spaces. Then, to make each room pop, we inserted mosses, branches, and metal accents to give the feeling of the outdoors.

This upper scale condo is located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. This home has a sleek contemporary design with hidden details emphasizing the sophisticated aesthetic. The intentional use of natural stone and textures are accented with bold colors that play against neutrals.

Inspired by their recent travels, this Bountiful, Utah family brought in the Open Range residential team to help pull everything together in their full-house renovation. The bones of this sturdy craftsman were strong, but the client needed help finding a palate that would match the style of the home, bring the outdoors in, and capture the mood from their travels. Our team, in partnership with the homeowners, hit the nail on the head with the kitchen...literally! The beautiful distressed hood, featuring rivets and bands of color, helps the family feel at home while creating sweet treats in their kitchen. Another project favorite? The brick wall in the primary bedroom and the accompanying architectural, curved wall with columns, help with the transition into the adjoining seating area.

When we're working with a big family, our Open Range team tries to strike a balance between ample seating without feeling crowded...and this transitional Huntsville design nails that to a tee. The elongated kitchen island (paired next to a gorgeous hood and airy cabinet) provides space for everyone (and everything). Our favorite touches? An amazing bunk room, striking lighting in each space, and several built-in entertainment centers.

Edmunds Periodontics is known for educating patients in a positive, personalized environment.  But in order to effectively set the tone for that type of relationship, it needed its office space to give off a modern yet approachable vibe.  By incorporating fun wall textures - through wall paper, partitions and artistic installations - we created a design that puts patients at ease while giving staff all the functionality they need to perform at their best.

This Park City beauty strikes the right balance between subtle color and texture and eye-catching detail. Case in point? The structural wooden detail in the kitchen ceiling, the color and molding in the bathtub surround and the pointed lighting elements that bring focus to the built-ins. Very few people look forward to going to the orthodontist, so when the Horsley Orthodontics practice came to Open Range for guidance on their waiting and patient rooms, we knew the design would need to be clean, yet also infuse a sense of comfort and warmth that is often missing in healthcare settings. By pairing muted wall color palettes with splashes of gold and dark blue, we were able to move away from sterile and clinical to a fresh, warm and inviting healthcare space.

When Marriott Bonvoy was ready for a more modern take on its extended-stay, Residence Inn location in Sedona, Arizona, they turned to the Open Range team for stylish updates to its shared dining, outdoor seating, meeting and gym spaces. Using the brand’s characteristically blue palate as a starting point, we were able to create brand cohesion while also weaving in local elements to make the space feel more like home.

So when our residential team began work on this Holladay home, we wanted to identify those staples and elevate them. We achieved that by highlighting architectural wood beams, which make several surprising appearances throughout the house, lighting, and other natural elements to reflect the home's majestic surroundings.

Situated in the affluent, historic neighborhood, The Avenues, this contemporary beauty does a phenomenal job of bringing the outdoors in - both from a materials selection as well as natural lighting. We love the incorporation of the concrete fireplace, the wooden ceiling beams, and the green tiled backsplash. You'll also want to check out the array of modern chrome lighting fixtures situated throughout this contemporary dream.

Midtown 360 is a luxury apartment complex that distinguishes itself through its amenities, including a cutting-edge gym, a screening room, enticing indoor and outdoor public gathering spaces, and a front lobby that makes you want to pack your belongings and move right in.  To play off of that vibe in its community spaces, we incorporated architectural elements that help create distinct spaces, bold colors (check out the navy ceiling), decorative lighting, and a dichotomy of hard and soft best captured by the airy drapery set behind angular furniture.

When The Ritchie Group first approached Open Range, they wanted an interior design celebrating the New Orleans jazz scene of the 1920s. Our commercial team took that note and ran with it, creating community spaces (like the sip-and-store wine cellar, rooftop lounge, or co-working spaces that fit any work style) that invite residents in.

Boasting tastefully appointed interiors, we wanted to give off a light and airy feeling as soon as prospects enter each unit. Our multi-family design team was able to achieve that with a clean color palate that makes the space shine, modern lines reflected in beautiful office bookcases, and playful art placement. The spaces give off the feeling of being lived in, while also appealing to a broad audience.

To quickly establish that feel, we leaned into Glam styling with bold, risk-taking colors, pops of gold (best encapsulated by a gorgeous chandelier that grazes the coffee table), and custom furniture that helps define distinct spaces within the large room. We leaned into that roomy feel in the chef's kitchen and seemingly endless white walls dotted with bright accents. Utah First has a playful, non-judgemental approach that goes back to its 1935 post-depression era founding.  So when the Credit Union wanted to update its corporate headquarters, it needed a design partner who could help toe the line between trusting banking organization and color outside of the lines lender. Our design pairs playful lighting, colors and accent seating with true function, emmersing employees in an environment that truly reflects the brand.

We gave this Spanish Colonial in Federal Heights a traditional facelift that felt authentic to the original home, with an upscale, modern-day touch. One of our favorite tools in that transformation - several tapestries in the wrought-iron stairway that play off of the traditional stair runner and wooden ceiling vaulting in the front foyer. The vibrant patterns woven throughout the project are the icing on the cherry.
Federal Heights, Salt Lake City, Utah

Going from Tuscan styling to Ultra-Modern is no small feat! It requires a creative eye to reimagine the space and a clear vision to bring it all together. That's what our residential team was able to do on this Holladay, Utah stunner. The key to our transformation: opening up the floor plan by taking down several non-weight bearing walls and moving the color palette away from wooden floors and paneled walls to sleek, large-format porcelain tiles and white walls. It can be a tightrope, mixing the clients' wants with the original architecture of the home. Still, the transformation in the kitchen, with the waterfall feature on the island and textured wall detailing, truly highlights how a clear vision and focus can carry the day.
